In 1981, at the request of certain clients, Porsche produced some examples of the 911, immediately recognisable by their flattened front bonnet (nicknamed “Flachbau”, “Flat-Nose” or even “Slant-nose”) with incorporated headlamps, and directly inspired by the Porsche 935 racer. The lateral air inlets are specific to it, and its power is pushed up to 330hp, 30 more than a standard 911 Turbo. From 1986, this modification became officially offered in the Porsche catalogue. However only 1000 examples were sold due to a price almost twice than a standard 911 Turbo.
