After Mercedes-Benz tore to victory with its W194 at the Carrera Panamericana of 1952, the car manufacturer produced a road version of the famous vehicle. The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL first made its appearance at the New York International Auto Show. Marketed in 1954 as a coupé, it was then sold as a convertible until 1963. Mainly sold in the USA, its rarity (only 3258 models were ever produced) as well as its legendary aesthetic make it one of the most prestigious and expensive cars in the world.
