After a 911 Carrera RSR 2.8 that won a number of events in the 1973 season, Porsche decided to push the concept of “competition-customer” cars even further for the 1974 season with the 911 Carrera RSR 3.0L. The Flat 6 saw its capacity increased and received a Bosch injection gifting it with 330 horsepower. The clutch was reinforced with its casing now made of aluminum. Porsche delivered the car with two different fins; one fin to cruise on the open road, and another to compete with. The 55 produced copies brought home the gold many a time.
